Well, unless you want to let your guests know which end of the table they should sit at! How amazing is this table? I think it's every bride's dream to not have to spend hours agonizing over the seating arrangement.

Flower Girls and Ring Bearers are every bit as important as the bridal party. After all, they will walk down right before the bride and even appear in several of the larger bridal party photos. And just like the older bridal party memebers, it's always nice to have the option of wearing these outfits again. Granted, if the kids don't grow any larger, they can wear them to another wedding, a formal birthday party, graduation or even Easter (if they make it that far). I know for me, my mom always bought a few sizes too big, would hem/sew everything in and slowly expand it each year. Needless to say, by the time some items were handed down to my sister (there's a 5 year age gap), they were really bent out of shape and had to be tossed. Okay, I'm sure my mom kept a few that she loved and forced my sister to wear it! In any case, there are so many adorable options for the little ones but came across a few that recently stuck out to me.
Love the ruffles!
Or a simple ballerina outfit with a longer tutu! Again, with an accented sash!
And for the boys!
Little knickers and suspenders always melt my heart!
It's always adorable when they wear a little tuxe!

I did not stay up to watch the Royal wedding nor did I wake up at the crack of dawn. However, I saw the highlights (and DVR'ed everything to watch a bit later) and loved her dress! Yes, it wasn't quite elaborate but I felt it was very eloquent and perfectly matched the royal scene, very romantic in my eyes. I loved how they kept with many traditions where William couldn't turn to see his lovely bride until she met him at the altar. *I loved how they kissed twice on the balcony palace!
Oh the possibilities…so many options for this canvas backdrop via Better Homes and Gardens! A nice wall decoration (especially if you live somewhere where you can’t actually paint the walls!).
How about for a makeshift photobooth as a backdrop at your next party?
Or a background table display like Amy Atlas?
Or you could pin your place cards to this and then ask guests to leave a wishful note in it’s place!
I used to think that Better Homes and Gardens were for old grandmas… boy, was I wrong!

A few weekends ago, I went off to Indiana for a weekend wedding. I have never seen a group of friends so willing to help out their 2 friends during their weekend nuptials! Their friends helped out with last errands, making floral arrangements + personals, setting up the welcome dinner/brunch as well as locking the bride in her room the night before her wedding to make sure she got some rest! They definitely deserved to party out as much as they did at the wedding!
When asked why the wedding was held in Indiana, Deborah and Whitney shared how they really loved Lake Michigan and found the perfect spot, just 2 hours away from Chicago! Deborah and Whitney are such a sweet couple that put so much love and thought into their wedding that each guest experienced. I happened to capture some photos during setup…
Deborah’s entrance with her mother and brother.
The intimate ceremony overlooking the beach
You can’t see the chuppah cover but Whitney sewed it together himself! This was later used at the reception for guests to pin different birds and fabric pieces. They eventually want to make this into a quilt! You’ll also see the talis – the prayer shawl that belonged to Deborah’s father, wrapped around the couple.
After the ceremony, Deborah and Whitney enjoyed their yichud, 15 minutes alone together.
At the reception site, which literally was in the backyard of the house that they rented, the birds greeted guests on a clothesline.
The sweet jam party favors that Deborah’s mother preserved herself for each guest which reminded Deborah of her childhood. (If you look a bit deeper into the picture, you’ll see a yellow gingham handkerchief that Deborah’s bridesmaids painted in red for the table numbers which were tied onto the water pitchers!)
Congratulations Deborah and Whitney!

What a clever idea… this could work at an engagement party or maybe a rehearsal dinner – a great way for your guests to mingle with each other and a fun way for you to remember too! [I’d probably leave a magic marker so that they could write their name on the flag]

Guess what these are?
You’d think they are the latest craft idea or something fun for little kids…
But they are actually place cards! If you take a closer look you’ll see ribbon on each place card but when you fold the card together the ribbon may become loose. Plus they are much easier to transport. So late last night on Monday, I devised this plan to keep them in order and keep the structure of the place card in tact. I placed a clothespin on every 2 cards to keep them connected. Then placed post-its on top so that they and removed the clothespin. The hot pink one states what letter they are and which one is the first one of the bunch. I think I might do this for all intricate place cards.
Glad they are finished… can’t wait to see them on a place card table!
Hope you had a wonderful weekend… I’m still recuperating. Saturday’s wedding turned out beautifully [of course a few issues along the way, but hey, what event ever runs perfectly?]. The bride and groom were blissfully happy and you could feel it in the room as they shared their first dance! I can’t wait to post some pictures in a few weeks.
Onto this week… I’m already feeling tired looking at my hectic schedule with some appointments, deadlines and another wedding on Saturday [this time, I’m helping with the flowers]. But hey, being busy is a good thing, right? Here’s a sneak peek at some programs + menus + place cards that I’m working on.
I just realized that I forgot to pick up a bunch of peonies from my dear friend’s parents’ home! Man… they were so beautiful too! Maybe I’ll have to sneak by one of these days! haha…
I've been an avid reader of Daily Candy for a while now... with suggestions on new and hidden venues to eat at or what to do this weekend if you don't have any set plans... Daily Candy has now ventured out to Weddings to help you plan your event, just in case you don't have a planner or need some extra guidance along the way!
You can even submit yourselves to be a featured couple! They don't have much information listed yet about what's local to your area, but they have very cute/clever ideas for you to ponder through!
If you come from a small town, this wedding was set in a farmhouse and brought in lots of local flavors that highlighted the area.
