I hope everyone has a wonderful new year. I have to admit, I’m thrilled that 2009 is far behind us. It was a difficult year for many friends/family as well as for myself. But I eagerly look forward to what’s in store for TWENTY-TEN! There’s a sense of hope/clarity/excitement in the air that I can’t put in words at the moment, but I am really looking forward to what’s in store, especially a wedding in Hawaii!
Above is what we ate for dinner on New Year’s Day. In Korea, it’s a tradition to eat a bowl of dduk-gook (rice cake soup) and then you turn a year older. I’m not so fond of the turning-a-year older part, but this is a favorite, especially when the weather is so cold these days! While making the beef broth, I realized how much of a difference the bones make in the broth to thicken it.
I gave up on resolutions a while ago, maybe they should be called monthly goals instead. Well, that’s what I’m going to call them! I’ll revisit them monthly to check in and see how I’m doing with them. Some are business-related (getting my etsy shop up and running again) and some are personal. (eh hem… I’m hoping the next time my dad emails me, I can proudly say that I am exercising rather than avoiding the question like I do these days!) But I’m really hoping to write more and take lots of pictures.
Thanks for tuning in. I’m hoping to have more direction on my blog as well!
