Flower Girls and Ring Bearers are every bit as important as the bridal party. After all, they will walk down right before the bride and even appear in several of the larger bridal party photos. And just like the older bridal party memebers, it's always nice to have the option of wearing these outfits again. Granted, if the kids don't grow any larger, they can wear them to another wedding, a formal birthday party, graduation or even Easter (if they make it that far). I know for me, my mom always bought a few sizes too big, would hem/sew everything in and slowly expand it each year. Needless to say, by the time some items were handed down to my sister (there's a 5 year age gap), they were really bent out of shape and had to be tossed. Okay, I'm sure my mom kept a few that she loved and forced my sister to wear it! In any case, there are so many adorable options for the little ones but came across a few that recently stuck out to me.
Love the ruffles!
Or a simple ballerina outfit with a longer tutu! Again, with an accented sash!
And for the boys!
Little knickers and suspenders always melt my heart!
It's always adorable when they wear a little tuxe!

I really want to see this movie, the Bridesmaids. I think it'll be such a comic relief. Not to mention the funny cast! After all, I hear it's the girls' version of the Hangover. And I'll admit it. I laughed in that movie. A. LOT. Can't wait for Hangover 2. In the meantime, I'll be catching this with my sister next weekend. We thought it would be a fun girls' night out.
A bride recently asked me to help her think of creative or fun ways to ask her bridal party to be a part of her day. Here are some options I shared with her.
*The old-fashioned snail mail option. I think it'd be a bit more fun if an image of the bride was in the middle!
2. Invite them to a lovely brunch or dinner and ask them all at the same time!
3. Hit the sweet tooth in your girls and ask them with the some cookies!
4. Or finally, you can pop the question just like you were asked! With a ring pop!

One of my friends, invited her girlfriends over for an early dinner and presented each of them with a personalized present and note. Tears were shared all around!
To celebrate their first birthday, Flirty Cupcakes, a local Chicago Cupcake truck, will be giving away 1,000 cupcakes tomorrow morning. Here's the schedule in case you want to check them out!
8:30 // 205 N. Michigan Ave – Fox On Air Segment
10:30 // Merchandise Mart – Wells/Kinzie
10:30 // Harpo Studios/West Loop – Washington/Aberdeen
12:00 // Rush – Harrison/Paulina
12:30 // Wacker/Adams
Follow them on twitter to get the real time estimate of where they will be. Seriously, how fun would it be if a cupcake truck showed up to your next party or wedding?
Did you have a lovely Mother's Day/weekend? The weather was just amazing in Chicagoland! And my sister and brother-in-law spoiled my family with an amazing meal. I'll post photos on that in a day or so.
In the meantime, enjoy a photo from my DC trip. Seriously, are there any Cherry Blossom treers in Chicago? I found them even at the gas stations in Virginia!
And I just happened to love Google and the way they commemerate any holiday or special date by updating their Google search site. Today just happened to be birthday of Roger Hargreaves. Remember him and his Mr. and Little Miss books?

By the way, Pinterest launched their iPhone app. Hoping the Droid version comes out soon! Pretty please? Although this could pose a problem as I'd be glued even more to my phone than needed.
Thoughts on gifts for moms? I always struggle with this for her birthday, Mother's Day and Christmas! What do you get for the mom who has everything she wants or need? But there's no way to just bypass the day and not acknowledge moms for their love, guidance and their never-ending sacrifices!
My default in the past has always some wrinkle cream. You know, for the added wrinkles I give her. She reminds me all the time. So I think it's nearly even when I buy her some cream for the wrinkles I cause!
But in the past, we managed to get her a beautiful silk scarf. This one is wool, but still love the modest colors.
Or a massage gift certificate always works well too! Who doesn't love a day at the spa?
And for the newly mother or grandmother, this would be an adorable handmade touch!
We're keeping it simple this year. An all day affair at the Botanic Gardens and dinner at my sister's. The best part is that I don't have to cook nor clean! To all the moms out there, THANK YOU!
If you have a blank wall at home work or for your event, you can set up a grid like this to display them. And the nice part is that you can swap them out whenever you want to!

I often dream about chopping my hair and radically transforming my look. But I know from terrible past mistakes that I will never look good with my hair really short. The joys of having really long hair is that there's so many different ways to style it! Here are some clever and easy ways to style your own hair. You could definitely style your own for your engagement party, rehearsal dinner or bridal shower! Listen to your stylist when she tells you NOT to wash your hair the morning of your wedding day. The slight grease in your hair helps keep the style SO much more!
Okay, well with this one, I can never seem to tease my hair enough to get a nice bump in the back.
But I have seem to have mastered this one. When all else fails, tease your hair A LOT and use lots of hair spray!
I have yet to try this one, but isn't it gorgeous? It's like a sideways braid but I'm sure it's way more complicated than that!
Phew, day 4 done. Okay, I'm not going to lie, it's really keeping me accountable because I said that I'd post on the blog every day in May!
