I mentioned earlier that I randomly found someone who would be willing to take me on as an intern. As an intern/peon, I learn from him and his amazing wealth of knowledge, supplies, and expertise in exchange for taking care of some office work [which is right up my alley!].
So I was pretty excited and had no idea WHAT to expect. I think I oo-ed and ah-ed a hundred times. I may have slightly drooled at first too... kekeke... This is his museum, sort of. He collects different types of machines, fixes some up and sells a few. He'll have tour groups or individuals come through and visit.
Honestly, I wish I had a video camera! I tried to snap away as many pictures as I could, but I got caught up in the moment at times of learning and jotting down some notes. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
And the THREE hours went by in a blur. I put my phone on silent and didn't check it once! haha.. I just tried to absorb as much as possible. I didn't think about any weddings coming up [sorry brides!] or the orders that need to be filled or some recent car issues... Before I knew it, it was past 1 and I thought, oh my, Paul [the owner] may need to go home, rest, eat lunch, etc. Being the instructor that he is, he asked me if I wanted to stay longer and try everything on my own... I would have stayed all day if I could ... but I knew I knew I had to get back to take care of so many other things.
I can't go back until the beginning of September [which is realistically only 2 weeks away, but feels like so much l-o-n-g-er! But I'll be counting down the days. He told me to bring designs and get ready to print. I'll be ready with an apron, comfortable shoes, nice cardstock. and many designs. CAN'T WAIT! :)
