A few weekends ago, I went off to Indiana for a weekend wedding. I have never seen a group of friends so willing to help out their 2 friends during their weekend nuptials! Their friends helped out with last errands, making floral arrangements + personals, setting up the welcome dinner/brunch as well as locking the bride in her room the night before her wedding to make sure she got some rest! They definitely deserved to party out as much as they did at the wedding!
When asked why the wedding was held in Indiana, Deborah and Whitney shared how they really loved Lake Michigan and found the perfect spot, just 2 hours away from Chicago! Deborah and Whitney are such a sweet couple that put so much love and thought into their wedding that each guest experienced. I happened to capture some photos during setup…
You can’t see the chuppah cover but Whitney sewed it together himself! This was later used at the reception for guests to pin different birds and fabric pieces. They eventually want to make this into a quilt! You’ll also see the talis – the prayer shawl that belonged to Deborah’s father, wrapped around the couple.
The sweet jam party favors that Deborah’s mother preserved herself for each guest which reminded Deborah of her childhood. (If you look a bit deeper into the picture, you’ll see a yellow gingham handkerchief that Deborah’s bridesmaids painted in red for the table numbers which were tied onto the water pitchers!)
Congratulations Deborah and Whitney!
