we drove, we walked, we lost an umbrella, ate breakfast and survived. :)
on mother's day, a few of us decided to raise a little bit of money and walk 3 miles for the y-me walk. little did we know what the weather was going to be like. most of us came prepared with waterproof jackets, umbrellas, and extra clothes. [some of us - me, did not!]
we got there late because sure enough, there was tons of traffic. but we made it to the parking garage and was on our way.
the runners already started and we had to cut through them. eeks!
and this was towards the end of the walk. at this point, we all had rivers sloshing around in our shoes, were soaked from head to toe and couldn't look straight ahead because the rain was coming sideways and hurt! [notice that the umbrella was more of a shield than anything. haha!]
we survived and got a quick shot before we trekked back to the car.
we were starving so we went for brunch at southport grocery. it was so scrumptious!
next year, we'll plan better and get water-proof gear!
Southport Grocery is in my neighborhood and seriously is one of my favorite places to go! Steve and I saw it on Check Please! once and after that were hooked! How are things?
